FAQs: Market > Consumers

Order products from the Trashless Market for delivery anywhere in the continental US. There are no minimums, no membership, no commitments.

The first time you order a product, regardless of the number of units, it will be packaged in beautiful reusable glass containers*. The items in orders shipped by Trashless will be delivered in a Certified Pre-used Box (CPB). Some products are shipped directly by their producers and manufacturers - and may not arrive in CPBs. We are working diligently to expand the CPB footprint to include a wider set of businesses and consumers.

Customers will be able to see on the Trashless app the city where the box started its reuse journey (without revealing the identity of the Contributor). CPB Contributors will be able to see which city their boxes are headed - giving every member of the community a complete picture of their participation.

We encourage you to give those boxes a third life (and beyond!) - as long as they have integrity and meet all the requirements for contributing to the Certified Pre-used Box program.

When you run out of a product, simply scan the QR code on the container using the Trashless mobile app for a 1 Tap ordering experience. You can also find all your past orders in the Buy Again section of the app. Review your shopping cart and check out.

Everytime you reorder a product, it will automatically be delivered in compostable packaging made of paper, or another plant-based material appropriate and safe for that type of product.

Simply transfer the product to the original container for it - saving the waste of a beautiful glass container that can be used thousands of times. Use the guidelines printed on the refill packaging for how to dispose of it.

*Notes:
- Some non-food products such as bar soap, loofahs, and more may be delivered without any packaging. Why waste any material when it’s just not necessary?
- Some products may arrive in separate deliveries. This is because we want to reduce the amount of miles traveled by products being shipped from the manufacturer to Trashless and then to end consumers by getting them shipped directly to you from the manufacturer, in sustainable packaging when possible.
We do deep research around the carbon footprint of each product and find the lowest possible combination of packaging waste and distance traveled.

Trashless Market ships to all addresses in the continental United States. Stay tuned as we expand to other countries.

There is no shipping fee on orders above $75. On orders below $75, there is a flat shipping fee of $12.99. This fee schedule may change without notice.

Orders are shipped out the same or the next business day via UPS Ground. You will receive a tracking number via email and on the app when the order is shipped.

Trashless Market does not offer faster delivery options that involve flying, and never will. The reason is simple - flying is environmentally very costly and that is simply not worth the extra speed, even if you are willing to pay for it. We hope that you can plan your purchases in advance of running out, and will have the patience for the delivery to reach you.

We love refill stores. But they are not everywhere and don’t offer everything.

We love online shopping. But not the waste that comes with it.

Trashless Market marries the two - bringing you a higher level of sustainable shopping experience across a vast and growing selection of products, directly into your home: Zero-waste, healthier, hygienic and technologically advanced.

We at Trashless love the in person shopping experience, just not the waste associated with it. We are working with several retailers, grocers and c-stores to bring sustainable, zero-waste experiences, processes and technologies to their stores.

Trashless Grocery is a local delivery service. It is different from Trashless Market in a few ways, including:

- The product selection includes perishable products that require refrigeration, such as produce, meal kits and ready to eat meals, as well as beverages such as milk, plant-based milk, kombuchas and more - all in zero-waste packaging.

- Deliveries are done by drivers locally, in insulated reusable bags. Empty containers are picked up, sanitized, refilled and delivered again and again.

- Trashless Grocery customers can send in items that would otherwise end up in waste, including delivery boxes, and ice-packs that are used by other Trashless services.

We are committed to setting up local services in any new city when we reach the following two thresholds:

- Trashless Market is delivering to over 500 customers in a local metropolitan area. That is the critical mass we need for a local presence, with local jobs and infrastructure to be feasible.

- We have raised at least $250k from investors in that area to cover startup costs via our investor portal invest.trashless.com. Funds invested in $EARTH are allocated to provide startup capital in the areas where each investor lives.

Typically, aside from Trashless Grocery service, in a new city we will also rollout other Trashless services, including: Takebacks (for coffee shops, restaurants, meal-prep companies and venues), Reuse Army, Pickup Points, Certified Pre-used Box pick ups, and more. All these come together to create a long term fabric of environmental sustainability in a city.

We’d love to partner with local entrepreneurs in various capacities to make all of the above a reality. You can reach out to us here
